Presenting Inditex: Who are they?


Inditex is one of the world's largest fashion retailers, welcoming shoppers at its eight store formats -ZaraPull & BearMassimo Dutti,BershkaStradivariusOyshoZara Home and Uterqüe - boasting 5.693 stores in 85 markets.
The Inditex Group is made up of more than 100 companies operating in textile design, manufacturing and distribution.

Between 1963 and 1974, Amancio Ortega, chairman and founder of Inditex, began his career as a clothing manufacturer. The business grew steadily over the decade until Ortega owned several factories, which distributed their merchandise to other European countries.
The first Zara shop opened in 1975 in A Coruña, Spain, a city in which the Group first began doing business and which is still home to its headquarters.
In 1985, Inditex was founded as the holding company of the group of businesses operating at the time.
Over time, Inditex has disembarked in new international markets until now. It stores can now be found in prime locations in more than 400 cities on five continents.
